Laphezulu Catering & Events is a registered, black female-owned full-service catering company and eatery specializing in authentic South African comfort food. Founded in 2019 by Dalene Sylvester (Chef Dee), the company has evolved from a humble "scone commute" side hustle into a recognized premium catering brand serving corporate boardrooms, weddings, and traditional ceremonies across Johannesburg's Gauteng province.
On February 2, 2026, Laphezulu officially launched its flagship eatery concept, Kasi Kombuis, at the prestigious Wakanda Village inside the Sandton Marketâsolidifying its presence in Sandton, recognized as "the richest square mile in Africa."
